The last several months, we have struggled financially. We've been able to pay rent and utility bills by the due date, but the days leading up to it we would wonder if we would make it or not. However, God has always provided for us with exactly what we need and always just in time! Our most recent specific need was to purchase some parts we needed to repair our car. Without any extra funds of course our minds wondered how we would take care of it. While I was with my family last week, I got a phone call from a good friend from back home. She told me that three different small groups/classes from my home church had been saving their change and giving offerings for a few weeks to bless our family. I did not expect this! And guess what?! It's exactly the amount we needed to pay for the car repairs! Is God good or what?
I finally got around to watching "God's Not Dead" a couple nights ago. I had been wanting to watch it for a while and just didn't make time for it. I'm so glad that I did, though. It was a great reminder that in hard times, times of struggle, times of disbelief, times of joy, times of celebration. In ALL things, God is good. God is here with us. He is taking care of us. He is encouraging us. He is loving us. Even when we don't acknowledge Him, He is right here.
I am grateful that God cares so much about each of us. I'm grateful that He has called my family to missions. To serve and love others so they may experience His love, His forgiveness and His goodness. A couple weeks ago, I was able to join Danny on the second day of a house build. A woman from the team had a burden on her heart to share the gospel with the family but needed someone to translate for her. So I offered to go with her. And can you believe that the family had never heard the good news of Jesus before? I was surprised and sad to hear that, but then with such excitement got to be part of sharing with them. This woman prayed for them at the end and we left hoping that a seed was planted that day.
It is opportunities like this that make me especially glad to be a missionary. Not to mention, it makes me glad that I'm biligual and can translate so that others can share what is on their hearts.
I hope as we enter this season of Christmas, the celebration of Christ, that we all remember to focus on who God is and what He has done in each of our lives. I hope that we can proclaim His goodness to all that we meet. I hope that through this testimony, that you are encouraged. May you not forget that God is good... All the time!
With love, Danae
