This past year has been full of trials, pain, sorrow, but joy, excitement and learning experiences. We wouldn't change the time we've been here for anything.
Danae has gone through so much physicially; from severe mosquito bites, ear infections, dehydration and the life shattering knowledge of losing our first baby and almost dying from complications; and it has not been easy. But praise God that #1) we have survived and moved past this, and #2) that I have always had great health prior and for God's hand of protection on my life.
Danny has really stepped up in his role here in missions. I feel that God has developed Danny into who he is and the passion he has to serve. Danny from the very beginning has had a great connection with the people here and has learned how to communicate effectively.
Here are a few of the ministries we have been involved in since we've arrived last year: Homes of Hope, developing a children's program in the local Haitian community, hosting teams and school outreaches doing local ministry, sharing with local pastors and churches about who we as YWAM are and what we do. In recent months, our base was part of providing transportation for a water distribution program in the Haitian community, opening the door for a local church to start ministering in the area. We now have a weekly feeding ministry providing food for kids on the street in San Pedro.
Now as we look to the future, we are excited for what God has in store. First of all, we are expected a sweet baby in December and we finally get to start our family. We hope in the next couple years as we continue serving here in the Dominican Republic, to be able to take some time to get more training in the Bible and how to teach and share the gospel to the nations. We anticipate great experiences and memories this next year.
Thank you to all who have prayed for, encouraged and supported us this past year. You play a key role in the ministry here. We hope and pray you know how valuable you are in the advancing of God's kingdom here in the country of the Dominican Republic. We love you so much!
