"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat." Matthew 25:35
These next couple of months, we currently don't have teams booked to build houses, so Danny won't be very busy with all the Homes of Hope work. As you may know, Danny has served in the kitchen in the past; before and after we got married in 2010 he served there for 8 months. He has a real gift in being able to administer the money given to purchase just the correct amount of food, coordinating people to cook the food properly, and everything that goes with running a kitchen to make meals for so many people. He's glad to be able to help in this ministry again for this season.
This is also fun for me because I get to help out more in the kitchen. It's one of my greatest pleasures to be able to serve Jesus alongside my husband. Danny, as well as other staff who have stepped up in this season, are teaching me how to cook. Now, I've never had to learn how to cook before so this is a great opportunity for me! It has been fun making meals with our friends and helping shop for the base groceries, all the while serving each other so we can be more effective while sharing the gospel in the community.
