For example, my days are full taking care of Ian: making sure he gets changed, eats enough, is loved on, played with and I help him fall asleep. Before I know it, it’s the end of the day and I feel like we’ve survived another day. (Of course, I DO love doing all those things.) But if I’m not intentional to spend time seeking God and His purpose for me that day, then I miss out on that. To top it off, I’m not EXPECTING God to do great things IN and THROUGH me. If that were my focus instead, then I’m sure my days would feel a lot more productive and fulfilling. We should expect God to do GREAT things, because He will.
Here are three questions given to us to think about with this topic. These helped me focus more and really see what God wants of me:
1.) Am I living daily with expectation of God to work in me and through me?
2.) What are expectations that you have this season in your life?
3.) Ask God where He wants to speak, move and grow you in.
I hope this encourages you today to seek God for what He wants to do today.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3
