During the second day of the construction, a Haitian woman came to me and asked me what she had to do to be able to have a house like the family that we were building for. I told her the requirements to apply. The next few days she never left the job site and was always serving the team helping to paint or whatever she could do. Later, I never heard from her again.
About two months ago we needed a couple families for teams to build for and a local pastor took me to the middle of a neighborhood where there was an old house made of rusty sheets and pieces of wood that barely held together. When we knocked on the door, a woman came out that I recognized immediately. It was Angela, the Haitian woman who asked me for a house a year ago.
The rainy season has just started here and there are many other families just like her that are sleeping under a safe roof and firm walls. But there is still so much more to do in this community.
Thank you for continually reading our stories and continuing to support us in this ministry. May you be blessed!
