Republic and we are entering this which is one of our greatest adventures yet,
one of the most anticipated of all… to welcome our son Ian Samuel.
As I (Daniel) cannot work here in the United States because I have a tourist visa which does not permit me to have a job, and Danae can’t work either because she is in the late stage of pregnancy, we have kept ourselves busy with other importation things: going to see the midwife, taking prenatal classes, a breastfeeding class, taking care of our nieces and nephews, and looking for clothes and things for the baby. There are less than 7 weeks left until our little one will arrive and we are honestly really enjoying this stage in our lives.
I have also been trying to impress my family by cooking Mexican food for them. At first I was really nervous because I want to serve them in the best way I know how. As I see that they really enjoy what I make for them, it makes me happy. It is one way to thank them for their hospitality and help in this process. And more than anything, I do it because we’re family!
A couple weeks ago I helped my father-in-law Craig clean the back yard of the house, fix their fence and clean out the garage. It makes me feel more useful.
Danae has been helping to keep her parents’house clean, take care of her nieces
and nephews. This has been a time of reconnecting with her family and friends
here, especially with her mom Lori and her sisters.
Ian Samuel… he simply continues to grow and rarely stops moving in his mommy’s tummy. At the age of 31, I cannot describe the excitement I feel when I see my son
moving. Just thinking that God has entrusted us with the life of this precious boy makes me feel so privileged. I cannot wait to hold him in my arms.
I want to thank our family here in Washington for welcoming us in their homes (the Ralls families and Vizzini family). Thank you for lending us your cars and taking us to our medical appointments. And for supporting us 100% in this process! I pray that God continues to bless you and I am so happy to be part of your family…
As always, we would also like to thank everyone for reading our updates, and for supporting us with your prayers and financially.
We continue to ask for your prayers for my trip to Mexico in less than 2 weeks to get my mom. Please pray for safe travels, that we can prepare everything we need to before her arrival and that Ian stays where he is and doesn't decide to come early while I'm gone.
If you would like to help us with anything, feel free to contact us at any time. You can also see our list of current needs on our website here. If you would like to give any gifts for Ian, we have a baby registry at Target under Danae Martinez. Plus we need all the clothes we can get, if you have any hand-me-down things that you'd like to donate that would be awesome. Thanks!
Blessings to you all!
Danny, Danae and little Ian Samuel who arrives in 7 weeks.
