Time seemed to stop and after a few hours we were told that she had an ovarian cyst and that she was also pregnant. Danae’s parents and I knew that there was something else wrong but they didn’t tell us anything. A few hours later they brought her to the surgery room for emergency surgery. Before they entered, I took her hand and I prayed for her. Two and a half hours later, they told us the news that the cyst had ruptured and that she had also lost the baby which was about 4-6 weeks in gestation inside her fallopian tube, causing the tube to rupture. All of this caused her to bleed internally which resulted in her pain. For me it was very difficult as I remembered that in the beginning of this year my dad died and now I lost my baby. But we put the circumstances into God’s hands and He gave us peace.
We thank God because He didn’t let her get sick when we were on a plane, on the cruise or in some other place where she wouldn’t have been able to be taken care of well. But it was in a Christian hospital, with the best specialists, doctors and nurses in the region. If it hadn’t happened like it did, she would have died. God was with her and didn’t permit something worst to happen.
Her parents purchased a vacation package three years ago not knowing what would happen during our time. We believe that it was in God’s plan that we would be in the correct place on that day. Not that He made this happen, but that He prevented it from happening earlier and that He orchestrated it so that we were in the right place at the
exact perfect time.
We can say that it was an extraordinary vacation filled with adventures with crocodiles, a cruise, having fun with family and we were also able to see the hand of God work inside difficult circumstances.
For now, we are still in Olympia, WA, with Danae’s family and we plan to fly back to the Dominican Republic on December 7th to get ready for when the teams come. Danae is feeling great and believes that God has been healing her quickly.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
With the use of the hospital and the care that they gave to Danae, also came a total cost of about $40,000 (yes… forty thousand dollars!). Until now, we haven’t received confirmation how much the travelers insurance we have will cover but we believe it will be around $10,000. So we will have to pay about $30,000. It is a very LARGE amount but we believe that for God nothing is impossible. So we ask for your prayers that God
will provide all that we need to pay or if you’d like to help us, just contact us and let us know. Danae has applied for state insurance here in Washington and as we wait to hear from them, we hope that this may be how God will provide for the medical costs.
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog.
God bless you!
