With Ian, we were blessed to receive a diaper grant containing 15 cloth diapers with all the liners included. We also received about 13 from other friends over time. It has been amazing for us to be able to use these special diapers for our son. We were hoping to receive more diapers for Isabella; unfortunately, the company is only able to grant each family the cloth diapers once.
I have been looking online to find the same diapers we have for Ian (they have been the best ones I’ve used being fully adjustable to fit from 8-35 pounds). The cheapest option is to buy them in bulk from the company who gave us the grant. We have most everything we need for Isabella so I thought I would put this out there as a gift idea. If anyone is planning to send something to help us with our newborn, we would love to find people who can help us purchase the cloth diapers. A set of 24 diapers cost around $440.That may seem like a large investment to make at one time, but it easily pays for itself after 5 months buying disposable diapers. If we can find 22 people to help with $20 each, or 11 people to help with $40 each, we can get the diapers we need for Isabella. If you would like to help us, you can make a tax-deductible donation through YWAM here. Please attach a note stating “Donation for Daniel & Danae Martinez” and let us know by e-mail or Facebook that you made a donation specific for this.
Danny is still going strong in his studies in the Biblical Core Course. Last week, they studied the book of Romans and their speaker who came from YWAM Chile was really inspiring to Danny. He has a new passion now to further study that book in the future and gain an even deeper understanding of it. He has a little over three weeks left of the school until graduation! Please pray for continued endurance, rest and that the students can continue to retain as much as they can in these last weeks of the school. In two weeks, the students will be teaching one of the New Testament books in the local churches here in Ensenada.
I am enjoying spending time with Ian, taking care of myself during my pregnancy and being Danny’s biggest cheerleader. I’m not as involved on campus as I have been in the past, and that’s okay! My main ministry right now is to my family and I’m grateful to be in this season. Once a week, I do watch the two other 1 year olds at my house in the morning to give their mommy's a break, while they each take a day watching the kids so I can go to Bible Study and get stuff done at home.
Last week, I was able to pick up my permanent residency for Mexico so I am forevermore a legal resident of Mexico! Later this week, Ian and I have an appointment to get Sentri (which allows quick crossing over the border from Mexico into the US). If we’re able to get this, it will help cut way back on our wait time to get into the States for future appointments and for when I’m going into labor. (Lately the wait driving across the border has ranged from 1 ½ to 3 hours!) I also received approval for insurance this week, which is very exciting and a relief to have that taken care of. God has every last detail in His hands and I’m so glad that I can rest in the knowledge that He is taking care of my family and providing for us.
With love, Danae Daniel Ian & Isabella Martinez
