Adelaida is the owner of a brand new home! Living with her son, who people call Niño, and granddaughter, Katherine, this family was unable to make a suitable home for themselves. With little information given before we built for this family, I had a lot to learn about their history. This is what was shared on our YWAM's website about them.
During our time together, I was so pleased to encourage Katherine about the love her grandma, uncle, local community, and most of all JESUS had for her. This family was selected by the local pastor committee and is part of a church down the street from their home. The other two days of our time building for this family, I spent a lot of time with this little girl and other kids of the communittee. They "taught" me how to play the
game Sorry and all wanted my attention. It was such a precious time for me.
Danny had a great time, too, with this construction. In preparation for the teams and these construction times, he has quickly built a relationship with the local lumber yard, paint company, pastors, community, etc. Everyone has welcomed him warmly in these areas. We had a team from Canada come and build two homes in the weekend. With the relationship that Danny has already established with the locals, Danny took care of everyone and everything we needed for both houses. On top of all of his hard work, he also helped with the other house build. He is such a hard worker Great job, honey!
Thank you for your prayers as we made a difference in this family's life. And thank you for your support and enabling Danny and me to be part of this BLESSING in serving this community. God is teaching me so much about His love for His children and I'm so thankful to be used by Him to share that love with the people of San Pedro. God bless!
